Well where do I start......
After Santorini we got on a short ferry and headed to Ios a small island in Greece and probably one of the best parties you will ever go to. It's a tiny place, population of like 2000 people plus all the summer vacationers. We had heard it was a great place to go and a pretty wild party. We stayed in "Hora" The Village it was the best place to stay walking I mean stumbling distance home. One of the first things they tell you is remember the Diesel sign it will help you find you way back home, good advice! Our room was awesome we had a view of the port and the beach, made for beautiful sunset watching!
The beaches are beautiful, one day we went to Maganari beach about a 1hr bus ride from town you had to go through the cliffs to get to it, but worth the trip. Crystal clear water it was like bath water but nicer, lol!
Then there is the nightlife. People in Ios are on a completly different time schedule. We got there and wondered where everyone was it was like 11am, everyone was still sleeping. Most people get up in the afternoon. We would go for dinner at like 10pm then do some pre drinking at the bar where we stayed (Francescos) and then head off to our first bar (Bluenote) for like 12:30am, where the music is good and the cocktails are 2 for 5 Euros this a good deal. Then you would bar hop between the like 20 bars in town all pretty much walking/stumbling distance. Each bar was a different; Circus had a guy who did flame throwing, it was awesome and then there was Flame bar where there was always good music. It was crazy some bars didn't even open until like 4 or 5am. Then if you will still able to dance you would go to Kandi and go in when the moon was out and come out at like 7am and have the morning sunshine greet you. The music was awesome and we have learned some new greek songs that are very popular soo much fun to dance to. It was such a good party and good place to meet people. We even partied with our friends we had met in Rome our first night. Then you would go to sleep get up at like 2pm go for breakfast, we enjoyed milkshakes almost everymorning and then go to the pool or beach and then come home watch some t.v mainly old Beverly Hills 90210, have a nap pull yourself together go for dinner (we had some of our best meals in my opinion here, good variety) and do it all over again.
Shockingly we both managed to get colds, I have no idea why, lol! Only one minor incident let me just say jumping in a bar to one of your favourite songs is not a good idea as I learn't the hard way. On our first night, when I punctured my flipflop and my foot with a good piece of glass. Luckily I was rescued my a nice guy who seen me outside with my foot wrapped in toilet paper and offered to help me home and made sure I was okay, sooo sweet! Hey got to tell people the story and be the hero, lol! So the moral of the story is don't jump in the bars in Ios, lol!
We even spent a couple of days just relaxing from our busy/tough lives, just kidding and got pedicures, which we desperately needed. It was great and now I am a huge fan of pedicures!
Anyways, I would recomend going to Ios to anyone who wants to have a good time. Mandy danced, managed on little sleep and chugged the Red Bull. . Some nights it wass necessary as I continued to tell her that "I love this song" to pretty much every song they played, good times little one! We partied hard and have some good stories. Ios is a good time!!!!!!!
After 9 nights in Ios we took a hydorfoil to Mykonos. Lucky enough we were able to find a place to stay since it was a Geek holiday and so it was a long weekend! Our room was definitley not cheap but at least we had it. First day there we didnt do much just walked around and went for dinner, bc we had slept till like 8pm bc we had only like 2 hrs a sleep that morning. We went to the beach and went out for dinner the folllowing days. Going to the beach was an adventure bc of problems with our bus, we actually had to get out and switch buses on some random road, lol! On our last day we went to Paradise Beach was like a mini resort and had loungers and a bar. At around 5pm they have music and dancers, and the dance party began it definitly made leaving hard. Not to mention the beautiful water we just floated in and the fact that our loungers were right along the beach.
Last night we boarded a ferry which was only like a half an hr late in Greece this is practically early and headed for Athens, which is only like 7-8 hrs away. After a fun sleep/nap on the wet carpet we awoke as bright eyed as bushy tailed as we could possibly be. We went to The Acropolis today which was very neat to see. It was incredibly hot in Athens and trust me we have become climatized to the above 30 degree no clud in the sky weather we have seen pretty much everyday in Greece. We then headed back to the airport and got on a plane to Heathrow, London where we proceeded to get a bus to Gatwick where we will spend our night and like the next 17 or so hrs. It is after 1am here and i know i should be sleeping it does look pretty comfy on the bench next to where Mandy is sleeping on her infaltable sun lounger (props to her for blowing that thing up), the sun lounger was definitly a good investment as it doubles as a bed on ferrys and in airports, lol! So I am now in London, freezing I might add it was like 17 degrees when we got here, yes I know poor me, lol!
I haveh ad sooo much fun and is hard very hard to leave. There are so many good stories and pictures from the last 2 and a bit weeks and I can't believe it's gone by so fast, sniff sniff. I have definitley been bitten by the travel bug and I am already making Mandy promise a return trip to Greece and I am planning my next travel plans. Most likely to Aussieland (Austrailia), we will see what the future holds. I have had so much fun and it has been the time of my life!
I hope you have enjoyed the blog!

Southern Italy, Corfu and Santorini!
Hello,
Southern Italy
So we spent a couple days just outside of Sorrento in southern Italy which was great. We took a day trip to Capri a beautiful posh island by Sorrento, we went on a boat island tour which was great. The taxi cabs are really neat you will see what I mean when I upload pics, which I hope to do soon. We stayed in a great hostel which was more like a 4 star hotel. The most random thing happened though one night we were hanging out drinking wine on the roof top terrace and i looked at Mandy and was like i am totally having dejavu I swear I might those girls and hung out with them on the pubcrawl in Rome. I looked at my camera and sure enough they were on it so i went to talk to them and sure enough we had made friend on the pubcrawl and they had pics on their camera of me, totally a small world, lol! Also we tried lemoncello which is a yummy liquor in Italy. Then we also did a day trip to Pompeii, which is a preserved village from hundreds of years ago when the volcano errupted. It was neat to see. There was even a brothel and the drawings/pictures on the wall are still intake, looked like karma sutra was popular back then. We toasted our last night in Italy (St. Angelo) and headed to Greece. After a long day of travelling and our first ferry adventure where we slept on the floor we were in Corfu, kind of by accident. Funny story we were thinking our ferry went to mainland Greece and then we would have to take a ferry back to Corfu but thanks to Mandys smartness and an announcement on the ferry that it was stopping in Corfu we got off.
Corfu, The Pink Palace one of my favourite places on earth!
We arrived in Corfu around 6am and looked around for the Pink Palace bus. We got on a laughed because 90% of the bus was canadians, even a girl who lives not too far from us back in Edmonton. Once we got to the Pink Palace which is true to its name and pink we were greeted by a guy in a pink toga (there was a toga party the night before) who was still drinking. The girl who gave us our orientation she was still up from the previous nights toga party. We were also given a pink shot of ouzo, Yamas! We knew from then on that week our liver may be in trouble. After some breakfast and a nap, we headed to our favourite place the beach, which was just down a what felt like a bizillion stairs from our room. The Pink palace has its own beach!
I loved it there, and would recomend the Pink Palace to anyone. We had a decent room with a balcony with ocean views, housekeeping would clean our rooms, even if you were still passed out in your room, lol! We bought some inflatable sun loungers and spent alot of time in the water and on the beach working on our tans. Everynight there was dinner at 830pm, which was served to you and was delicious it was also a good chance to meet new drinking buddies/friends bc the sat you down at random tables. Everynight there was something going on; flip cup(tippy cups), ouzo circle/plate smashing, cross dressing night and a toga party. We met a lot of great people including the staff which were a lot of fun. A lot of great stories; Nick the doorman or is it your fist night? Stories i will tell when I get home, if you ask! One day we went on a booze cruise which was a complete gongshow but soooo much fun. We met Captain George and i even got to wear the hat. People went cliff diving some even went naked, then there was dancing on the boat as well as hanging out on a secluded beach think the movie The Beach with Leonardo Dicaprio thats how beautiful it was. Then there was the chugging contest which Mandy did more drinking and dancing. We had to climb up and doen this ladder which was hard to do sober let alone less sober, lol! It was sooo funny to watch people on the other days coming off the booze cruise bc they were drunk and trying to make it through the water without getting their stuff wet and trying not to slip on all the very slippery rocks, that day we were those people. After a quick nap we went on to supper and to do more drinking, good times, next morning not sooo good! Then on saturday there was the party i had been waiting months to attend a Toga party.
The toga party was amazing it was like my equivalent to Christmas! They handed us pink togas and after lots of struggling and some pins we were ready or at least Mandy was. Then we went to hang out in some Irish girls room that we had met and some girl helped me fix my toga, much better. So we went to the toga party at the palladium which is the Pink Palce nightclub. There was drinking, dancing, lots of pink togas, greek dancing, ouzo, they even broke plates on your head, did I mention ouzo. It was a great time and a perfect way to end our adventures at the Pink Palace. We finally went to bed around 6am, just before the bus of new arrivals came we did try to stay up and greet them in our pink togas like we had been greeted the week before but we decided to sleep for like 2hrs because we had to be checked out by 9am.The next day we went on a sight seeing tour of the rest of Corfu, yes there is more then the Pink Palace! The tour was great and we had time to kill bc we were not leaving on the Pink Palace Athens bus until 10pm that night. That night we had our last Pink Palce yummy meal and said our goodbyes and boarded the bus for our 10hr bus/ferry/bus journey to Athens. Mandy i know was relievbed that I had gotten on the bus bc i was quite sure she thought i was going to stay at The Pink Palae, to be honest I did consider it if I would of had a couple of extra months I would of spent a couple of months working there. i just had a great time and would recomend it to everyone. There are more stories to tell but those will have to wait till I get home.
The following morning we arrived in Athens very sleep deprived from not sleeping for like 2 days and then we had to wait till 6pm tpo board our ferry, we had been homeless the night before and now again today so you can imagine how great we looked. We boarded our ferry at 4 (we had nothing better to do), then at like 530 we were informed that our ferry wouldn't be leaving until 8pm.When we finally left and arrived in Santorini it was like 6 in the morning and we arrived 3 hrs late. We hadnt booked any accomodation but luckily enough there are people holding signs at the ferry ports to greet you and to take you to their hostels or hotels. We got on a van and drove through t he cliffs to our hotel where we then went for a much deserved nap.
Perissa, Santorini
We spent the day at the beach which has black sand, you have to see it to believe it! We even got massages on the beach they were great. Last night we ate out at the beach at a yummy traditional Greek restautrant. Today we rented a quad and have been touring the island which is beautiful and very unique!
Tomorrow we are off to Ios which is known for its great parties, so everyone has been telling us. Luckily the ferry ride is much shorter. We will spend about a week there maybe more if we like it. Only a couple more weeks then i will be home unless we decide to go back to the pink palace and work there, lol!
Talk to you all soon, Yamas (Cheers)
